Birmingham is home to several talented designers, craftsmen, and other decor experts who can help transform a space to make it an extension of your personality and complete the vision for your home. From custom wood furniture pieces, to carefully curated oriental rugs, we’ve rounded up a few unique local places and people who offer beautiful goods and pieces made with meaning.

Sam Fisher Woodworking

After spending a decade in New York City learning the ins and outs of fine furniture building and millwork, Sam Fisher relocated to his hometown of Birmingham where he continues mastering his woodworking craft. With a deep appreciation for Japanese woodworking along with American Shaker design styles, Sam’s goal is to craft timeless items that will stand out as beautiful and memorable pieces in your home. His furniture pieces include handcrafted tables, cribs, coat racks, writer’s desk, cabinets, dressers, floating nightstands, and more.

Earthborn

With all the dinner parties and gatherings you’re sure to host at your new Tramont home, having signature serving pieces and dishes is the perfect way to make your event that much more memorable. Earthborn is home to artist Tena Payne’s vast collection of serving ware masterpieces, all made from the pottery wheel. Her products come in a myriad of glazed colors, from large serving dishes, to smaller bowls, and all sizes of drinking vessels. Tena’s work can be seen in notable restaurants such as Hot and Hot Fish Club in Birmingham, Springhouse at Lake Martin, and even across the pond at Duck & Waffle in London.

When designing The Tramont, D&A Companies envisioned giving homeowners a high-end, beautiful blank slate to inject their personality. Your home is an oasis, a first impression, a gathering place, and so much more. Not only can you buy local and support Birmingham entrepreneurs, you can also find pieces that reflect your personality and vision for your home. Birmingham has a rich history of craftsmanship, and these artisans and curators continue to honor that Magic City tradition everyday.
